All files use USD as the reporting base. USD, EUR, GBP, CAD and AUD are supported through explicit user-entered conversion rates. No macros, external workbook links or account credentials are included.
Start with the record you actually need
A net-worth snapshot records what you own and owe at a date. The portfolio file records the current quantity, price and remaining entered cost of each holding. The dividend file records dated payments and deductions. They answer different questions and do not automatically exchange or capture data.
The net-worth history has separate input snapshots; changing a current balance does not rewrite past months. The holdings workbook does not reconstruct trades or calculate realized gains. The payment log does not buy reinvested shares or add cash to the portfolio automatically.
Use explicit dates and currency rates
Each current balance or price has a date. The current-value workbooks use a visible FX table with rates quoted as USD per one unit of foreign currency. The dividend log instead takes a dated conversion rate per foreign payment, so a current spot rate does not silently revalue historical receipts.
Blank required values remain incomplete; an entered zero has a separate meaning. A missing foreign rate prevents a complete result. Dates later than the chosen snapshot or payment are flagged. Chart data uses gaps for unavailable history instead of inventing a zero balance.
Read each result on its own basis
The invented current net-worth example is $119,700. The separate holdings example has $19,100 market value and $18,100 entered cost, leaving $1,000 unrealized difference. The dividend example has $501.50 gross, $58.65 withheld and $5.35 fees, leaving $437.50 net cash. These are independent invented records, not a single person’s portfolio or a return claim.
A rise in net worth can include savings, debt payments and spending as well as market changes. Unrealized price/currency change excludes realized profits and distributions. Dividend cash alone is not total return. The templates name these boundaries so the output is not mistaken for a performance report.
For separate scenarios, use retirement and FIRE tools. For actual household income and spending, explore the financial template library. These records do not replace broker statements, accounting records or tax forms.
