Investing template formulas and verification
These files are separate current-value and cash records. They do not automatically connect to one another or calculate a complete investment performance history.
Inputs and missing values
Blue text on pale yellow marks editable inputs. Formulas in working areas that link another worksheet use green text; local calculations use black. Cash outputs are USD unless labelled native. Negative money appears in parentheses and true zero may display as a dash. Required blanks expose n.a. rather than being silently omitted. Chart helpers use deliberate #N/A gaps for unavailable history or weights.
All accounts, assets, payments, balances, prices and FX rates are invented. There are no macros, bank/API connections, external workbook relationships, credentials or live quote functions. The base currency is USD. Rates are USD per one unit of native currency, not the inverse. USD uses a rate of 1.
Net worth and history
Each current balance translates at its entered currency rate, rounded to cents. Assets and liabilities are positive input balances; net worth is the asset total less the liability total. Active item labels must be unique. Dates must be valid and on/before the snapshot. The range is twenty rows and is not an auto-expanding account database.
The twelve-row history is entered independently, in USD. Each recorded date is the first day of a month, must increase in row order and must not be later than the snapshot. Net worth is assets minus liabilities. Change compares adjacent recorded rows; net flows are entered contributions minus withdrawals. Change less entered flows is not an investment return. Current balances do not overwrite the history and gap rows do not create invented changes.
Current holdings and allocation
For each of twenty positions, USD market value is units × native price × rate, rounded to cents. Unrealized difference is that value less the remaining USD cost entered by the user. A zero price is a real value; missing price is not. A zero-unit holding requires zero remaining cost. Account/asset pairs must be unique. This is not a lot, trade, corporate-action or tax-basis ledger.
Weights use total current market value. With no value, a percentage weight is unavailable. The four user targets must sum to 100%; target USD is current total value × target weight. The signed value gap is target less current; percentage-point drift is current weight less target. Targets retain full precision and display rounding can differ by a cent. No trade sizes, tax, fees or future-contribution orders are calculated.
Dividend payments
Each of fifty recorded payments requires a date, labels, currency and nonnegative gross/withholding/fee amounts. Withholding cannot exceed gross; fees can make net cash negative. USD rows ignore foreign-only rate/date inputs and use effective rate 1. Foreign rows require positive dated per-payment FX, preventing a current spot rate from rewriting historical cash.
Gross USD, withholding USD and fee USD round separately to cents. Net USD is their difference. Summary counts and sums actual entered payments by calendar month and selected year, limited by the as-of date. Zero months mean no matching entered records. The model does not reconcile broker completeness, detect every duplicate payment, classify tax status, calculate tax due, create reinvested shares or forecast dividends.
Verification performed
Every worksheet was rendered and inspected. An independent Decimal calculation checks the exported cached results for conversions, net worth, history flows, holding values, weights, targets and payment/month/year totals. Microsoft Excel checks cover missing versus zero, text/future dates, missing/zero FX, duplicate positions, zero cost, zero prices, invalid target sums, negative dividend cash, ignored inactive USD FX fields, editing and save/reopen.
Only XLSX in the authoring engine and native Microsoft Excel were verified. No native Google Sheets test or external account reconciliation is claimed. Extending a bounded range requires updating formulas, validation, charts and totals together.
Search-demand evidence
Topic choice uses cached DataForSEO US/English estimates retrieved 16 October 2026. They are not site traffic or a ranking forecast, nearby variants are not summed and a reported zero difficulty does not prove no competition. These downloads contain original formulas and explanatory content rather than a collection of placeholder files.
