Identify the network and operation
A simple native-token transfer is different from a smart-contract interaction, token approval, bridge or exchange withdrawal. Identify the chain and operation explicitly. Polygon PoS should not be treated as interchangeable with every network using Polygon technology.
Read each network’s fee model
Cardano documents fees that depend on transaction characteristics and protocol parameters. Polygon’s migration documentation states that POL replaced MATIC as the native gas token on Polygon PoS. Neither statement supplies a permanent dollar price for a transaction. Token prices and network conditions must be recorded at the observation time.
Build a comparable receipt
- Network, date and timestamp.
- Operation and transaction identifier or reproducible simulation.
- Network fee in the native token.
- Native-token price and its source at the chosen time.
- Any distinct exchange, service or bridge charge.
- Whether the transaction succeeded, failed or required another approval.
Convert carefully
If an invented network fee is 0.2 units and the chosen conversion price is 0.50 dollars per unit, the fee is 0.10 dollars. A separate 1-dollar exchange withdrawal charge would make the combined charge 1.10 dollars, but it would be incorrect to call all of it the blockchain’s network fee. These are fictional amounts, not current Cardano or Polygon quotes.
Report what was actually measured
A single receipt is one observation, not a typical fee distribution or a speed benchmark. Compare matched tasks across relevant conditions before ranking cost. No current fee winner or social-media popularity claim is asserted by this revision.
