What changes the decision

The regular price excludes 20%VAT. Bank-sponsored free access has separate eligibility and is not modelled as a universally free plan. UK filing tools do not establish suitability in another country.

Test your own workflow before switching

Confirm your business structure first. A level 8 user can export account data to Excel and files to ZIP; keep financial reports and attachments with migration records.

Preserve opening balances, open receivables and payables, tax balances, attachments and a dated trial balance. A CSV bank statement contains bank activity; it does not recreate invoices, inventory, account history or reconciliations. Confirm that the chosen account, role and edition support the needed import/export format.

Evidence and update policy

Prices refer to selected monthly list plans. Check the current checkout for taxes, add-ons, country eligibility and changed terms. Unknown features stay unverified; a filter match is not a recommendation that the software meets your tax or reporting obligations. Our sources are listed below so you can verify the exact edition.

• FreeAgent UK pricing — Sole trader regular 19 GBP/month before 20%VAT, promotional half-price excluded; business-structure plans are not generic feature tiers. Conditional bank-sponsored free offers excluded from zero-price filter.
• FreeAgent project tools — Project income/expenses/profitability and time tracking; project P&L PDF/CSV exports.
• FreeAgent banking — Bank feeds depend on bank support; OFX/QIF/CSV statement upload; multi-currency bank accounts.
• FreeAgent data export — Full level 8 access; Excel account data export, separate attachment ZIP and financial report PDFs. Export is not guaranteed cross-product restore.
