Formula and method
Regular hours = min(total hours, threshold). Premium hours = max(0, total − threshold). Gross = regular hours × rate + premium hours × rate × multiplier.
Worked example
At 45 hours, a 40-hour threshold, base rate 20 and multiplier 1.5, regular pay is 800 and premium pay is 150, totaling 950.
