Zacks Screener: Coverage, Access & Export Checklist
Inspect Zacks screening workflow, documented access boundaries and a concrete data-verification task.
Documented research workflow
Fundamental and technical stock filters with predefined screening ideas.
Access and package boundaries
The public screener describes custom and predefined stock criteria. Saved-screen, premium research and export conditions need a current account/package check.
What to verify
A proprietary rating or analyst estimate has its own definition and update cycle. A matching screen is not proof of a profitable historical strategy; avoid copying promoted returns into a forecast.
A practical acceptance task
Document the current financial period and rating timestamp for a small screen. Test whether the same filters remain reproducible after clearing a predefined strategy.
Keep the research reproducible
Record the universe, active filters, financial period, quote timing and source version. Re-run a small example before replacing an existing research process. A result count can change as data updates or the available universe changes.
Separate selection from performance
A screen narrows a source dataset. It does not establish a causal explanation, a diversified allocation or a historical return. Inspect filings, fund documents, liquidity and the suitability of the underlying research question before using the output.
