Local CSV Screener Methodology & Exact Filter Rules

Inspect the accepted schema, missing-value semantics, deterministic sorting, backup limits and original local-tool boundaries.

Source schema

Exact columns: id,symbol, name, assetType, sector, country, currency, price, marketCap,pe,dividendYield, revenueGrowth, expenseRatio,asOf. IDs are unique. Required labels are id,symbol, name; sector and country can be blank. All text is single-line and bounded; Stock and ETF are the only asset types. Each row has a canonical calendar date 1900–2200.

Numeric definitions and bounds

Numeric columns are optional plain decimals with up to six places, without grouping or percent symbols. Price 0–1 billion; marketCap 0–100 trillion; P/E −100000 to 100000; dividend yield 0–1000%; revenue growth −100 to 10000%; expense ratio 0–100%. Expense ratio must be blank for Stock rows. These are storage bounds, not economic plausibility certifications.

Filters are exact and conjunctive

Every active condition must pass. Numeric comparisons use scaled BigInt decimals with inclusive thresholds; blank fails only the active numeric condition. A maximum P/E also requires a positive P/E. Positive-P/E can be required separately. An active expense-ratio cap excludes blank Stock entries rather than assigning them zero fees.

Dates and sorting

The optional age window uses calendar days, includes exact bounds and rejects future dates. Numeric missing values sort last for ascending and descending; ties use exact ID order. Text comparison is case-insensitive with an ID tie-break. All-source view retains original input order; the selected sort applies to matched view.

Import, editing and portable backup

CSV is UTF-8, at most 2 MB and 5000 rows. JSON is at most 8 MB, contains original rows and applied filter options, and reruns validation/calculation. Accepted data must fit its own backup size. Imports preview before whole-source replacement. Manual add/edit/delete validates a candidate before committing, so an invalid operation preserves the previous source.

Export and print

Source CSV includes every row; matched CSV includes all matching rows in selected order, not just the visible page. Decisions CSV includes every source ID and pass/fail reasons. Formula-like text receives a protective apostrophe in CSV; JSON preserves original text. The screen paginates 100 rows, and print includes the current page with an explicit range; export for the complete result.

Counts and interpretation

The sector chart counts matched records and shows at most 10 labels. Counts are not market-cap weights, holdings exposure, recommendations or expected returns. No live quotes, authenticated provider integration, automatic saving, model optimization or historical performance test is performed.
