Yahoo Finance Screener: Coverage, Access & Export Checklist
Inspect Yahoo Finance screening workflow, documented access boundaries and a concrete data-verification task.
Documented research workflow
Predefined and custom screeners using financial and valuation criteria.
Access and package boundaries
Official help describes stock, mutual-fund and ETF screens. Creating and saving a custom screen requires signing in; exact plan/export entitlements are not asserted here.
What to verify
A signed-in saved screen is not an authenticated acceptance test in this review. Check exchange delays and metric definitions; avoid treating a marketing strategy name as an investment recommendation.
A practical acceptance task
Save a small custom screen under a test account, inspect its active asset universe and record the exact filter definition. Confirm whether the desired export is offered in that account.
Keep the research reproducible
Record the universe, active filters, financial period, quote timing and source version. Re-run a small example before replacing an existing research process. A result count can change as data updates or the available universe changes.
Separate selection from performance
A screen narrows a source dataset. It does not establish a causal explanation, a diversified allocation or a historical return. Inspect filings, fund documents, liquidity and the suitability of the underlying research question before using the output.
Primary evidence
