Research history: how the shortlist changed

This is a historical record. Use the current catalogue and executive report for current priorities.

October 13: initial four-opportunity scan

The initial pass recorded eighteen sources across form monitoring, supplier CSV preparation, client-content collection and bank PDF conversion. Forms and supplier CSV were selected for deeper investigation; content remained on the watchlist and generic bank conversion was deprioritized.

The source mix was nine user discussions, five vendor pages, one substitute, one platform document and two builder promotions. Sixteen pages were opened; two records used search-extracted text. No purchases were verified. The initial observation was that user complaints alone do not demonstrate a market gap.

October 13: expanded cross-sector review

The second pass expanded to 112 unique URLs and fourteen opportunities. It added agency workflows, ecommerce configuration and business operations. The mix was 69 user discussions, 25 vendor pages, four substitutes, six platform documents and eight builder promotions. Ninety-six pages were opened and sixteen used search extraction.

Six opportunities entered the validation shortlist, five remained on the watchlist and three were deprioritized. Generic form monitoring moved to the watchlist after direct competitors were found offering inbox verification. Content review, native platform settings and free spreadsheet workflows repeatedly weakened apparently attractive ideas.

October 14: complete English catalogue and new evidence

All existing source notes and opportunity cards have been retained in English. Three sector reports now include additional research. New topics cover WordPress update review, account handoff, product-feed mismatch audits, download entitlements, invoice follow-up and manually arranged appointment confirmation.

Translation does not change a source's retrieval date. New sources are marked with their actual research date and access level. The current executive report gives the combined counts after URL normalization. There are still no verified paid pilots for the proposed products or services.

The practical lesson remains consistent: first determine whether the buyer needs a new product, a one-time configuration or an operational service. Recurring billing needs recurring value and manageable support; it does not follow automatically from recurring complaints.
