Client account ownership and offboarding handoff pack

Decision: Investigate next. Price hypothesis: $49 one-time. Estimated pilot: 6–10 working days.

Problem

A structured asset register and closure workflow showing account IDs, current owner, agency access, billing owner, client acknowledgement and remaining handoff tasks. Exports a dated handoff pack. Records evidence and routes people to native platform controls; stores no passwords and performs no automated revocation.

Buyer

Small marketing/web agency ending projects or transferring client accounts to another provider; operations lead or owner handles the work.

Competition and substitutes

Google Docs/Sheets plus a checklist can solve much of the job. Leadsie already addresses access onboarding from $59/month. Google Ads provides native unlinking and ownership controls. The narrow opportunity is a reusable evidence pack and handover completeness, not account recovery or access collection.

Monetization hypothesis

Test $49 per completed client handoff pack, not a monthly subscription; assisted handoff is a separate service experiment.

Acquisition hypothesis

Start with website handover and agency-transition services; show an anonymized sample pack to warm agency contacts. No outreach was sent, and no conversion or CAC estimate is available.

Risk

Infrequent handoffs undermine subscriptions; customers may decline third-party access. Many blockers are missing client permissions or unresolved billing and cannot be solved by software.

Next test

Use a password-free prototype on three voluntarily supplied past handoffs; compare missing assets and follow-up messages with a Google Doc checklist. Test per-handoff payment before building OAuth integrations.

When to stop

Stop if fewer than two of ten qualified agencies accept paying per handoff, ordinary checklists produce equivalent completeness, or support becomes account-recovery consulting outside a fixed scope.

Scope and uncertainty

6–10 working days: templates, asset register, evidence attachments, client acknowledgement, tasks and PDF/HTML export. Excludes credential vaults, OAuth platform integrations, automated access revocation and legal sign-off.

Sources and limitations

NA08: Agency offboarding process

Open primary source — user report. Retrieved 2026-10-14; opened page.

Agency practitioners describe repeated account-access clarification and handover emails; client ownership is often misunderstood. Others use a document and a standard process.

Limitation: Direct workflow evidence, but not a purchase commitment. A template and call may be sufficient.

NA09: Onboarding Agency: pricing and process discussion

Open primary source — user report. Retrieved 2026-10-14; opened page.

A commenter says they would prefer $50 per client to a monthly subscription for access onboarding; others say their process is solved and reject third-party involvement.

Limitation: Hypothetical willingness to pay, not verified payment. Onboarding is adjacent evidence for handoff, not proof of an offboarding market.

NA10: Onboarding: how painful is yours?

Open primary source — user report. Retrieved 2026-10-14; opened page.

Commenter identifies access as the painful part when clients do not know the login, particularly for Google Business Profiles.

Limitation: No universal account recovery promised. Comments about content collection are outside this opportunity.

NA11: Improving client onboarding

Open primary source — user report. Retrieved 2026-10-14; opened page.

Agency users describe successful Google Sheets/checklists and a Leadsie-based workflow for platform access.

Limitation: Strong counterevidence: existing inexpensive processes work. Vendor mentions are not independently verified purchases.

NA12: Removing an MCC when a client relationship ends

Open primary source — user report. Retrieved 2026-10-14; opened page.

Author wants to unlink a manager account after ending a client relationship; discussion touches billing dependencies.

Limitation: Historical support question, not demand for subscription software. Follow official documentation rather than commenters' procedural claims.

NA13: Leadsie official pricing

Open primary source — vendor. Retrieved 2026-10-14; opened page.

Starter $59/month for three new clients; Agency $129 for ten; Pro $299 for fifty. Includes access requests and tracking; annual subscription offers two months free.

Limitation: Onboarding competitor, not proof of complete offboarding support. Article says updated July 1, 2026; retrieved October 14.

NA14: Google Ads: unlink manager accounts

Open primary source — platform documentation. Retrieved 2026-10-14; opened page.

Official instructions provide a native unlinking workflow and require administrative access.

Limitation: An external checklist cannot override account permissions. No additional SaaS is required for this individual action.

NA15: Google Ads: client-account ownership

Open primary source — platform documentation. Retrieved 2026-10-14; opened page.

Official documentation distinguishes manager ownership and client rights; clients retain their data and can remove a manager's ownership by unlinking.

Limitation: Google Ads only. Do not generalize platform-specific rules to Meta, hosting or domain registrars.
