Daily OHLCV Inspector Methodology & Export Rules
Inspect the exact validation, duplicate/gap policy, warning thresholds and portable-source behaviour.
Accepted source and settings
Canonical seven-column UTF-8 CSV: date, open, high, low, close, volume, adjustedClose. Maximum 2 MB and 5000 rows. Every source cell is a bounded single-line string. CSV/schema/encoding errors reject the import; invalid numeric/date cells remain in an accepted inspection source and are reported, not silently dropped.
Price and volume tests
OHLC must be positive plain decimals, at most 1 trillion with six places. Optional volume accepts zero through 1 quintillion with six places; blank creates a warning, not zero. Optional adjustedClose must be a positive supported price when provided. OHLC comparisons use exact scaled BigInt decimals.
Dates, duplicates and usable bars
Valid daily labels use calendar dates 1900–2200. Every repeated date is a blocking error for all its rows. Usable bars have valid fields/ranges and a unique date; they are ordered internally only for chart and close-move inspection. The original source remains in its supplied order.
Gap convention
Gaps are absent labels between the earliest and latest valid supplied date labels. Existing labels with invalid OHLC are still present labels. Weekdays skips weekends only; calendar expects every date; none disables gap checking. No exchange-holiday, listing, trading-session, missing-before-first or missing-after-last inference is made.
Close-move warning
An optional positive threshold up to 10000%, with six decimals, compares absolute close difference against the prior usable close using exact integer ratios. Equality does not warn. It is a close-to-close comparison and can span multiple dates. The scatter chart uses approximate plotting coordinates and exact source values remain in the table.
Portable audit trail
Source CSV retains every row; formula-like raw cells receive a protective apostrophe. Issues and missing-date CSV exports contain all findings/dates, beyond on-screen samples. JSON up to 8 MB retains raw strings and settings and recomputes on restore. Sorted CSV requires a nonempty source with zero blocking errors; warnings are not a completeness certificate.
Interface and print
Import previews require explicit whole-source replacement. Manual edits/deletes are explicit user actions. Changed settings hide old results until inspection. Source rows paginate 100 at a time; print contains the current page and at most 1000 findings, with limits shown. Use complete exports for a full source/finding list. No automatic persistence, keys or external feed requests.
