Consulting invoice template
Consulting time with an explicit hourly rate and entered tax.
A consulting invoice should make the billed period, task and rate understandable. Use the reference field for an engagement or purchase-order identifier supplied by the client. The example uses 6.5 hours at 120 per hour and an entered 10% tax assumption; that tax is illustrative, not a jurisdictional determination.
Download editable Word template Download printable template PDF
Includes a blank editable page and a separate illustrative example. Word tables are static: use the generator to calculate and reconcile amounts before entering them in the file.
Document inputs
Use legitimate records. Example details are invented. All listed currencies use two decimal minor units here.
Review and export
JSON and HTML exports can contain addresses and payment notes. Keep them private. Nothing is emailed or submitted to a client.
Using the editable Word file
Open the DOCX in Word, save a copy and replace the bracketed fields. Remove the separate example page before issuing a real document. The PDF is a printable version, not an editable calculation engine.
Google Docs import
You can try importing the DOCX through Google Docs File → Open → Upload. Check tables, totals and pagination after import. A hosted Google Docs copy link is not provided and native Docs rendering has not been verified.
Scope and records
Keep the supporting agreement, timesheet or acceptance record separately. This tool cannot determine whether a fee is contractually owed, verify payment, apply local e-invoicing mandates or determine the right tax treatment.
