NinjaTrader8: paper access and simulation limits
A desktop simulated-order workflow that can operate with historical playback rather than only current market prices.
Selected workflow
Historical replay
Access and account requirements
Desktop simulation; market-data connection, replay files and licence/account terms are separate.
Market-data conditions
Playback uses downloaded/recorded replay data or historical tick data depending on configuration.
Simulation boundaries
Sim101 and playback account behavior differ. Historical replay is not proof of a free live exchange data entitlement. Downloaded history depth and simulation settings affect repeatability.
A practical verification exercise
Record playback versus Sim101 mode, data type, speed, commission template and starting balance. Run a single order twice on the same recording to inspect fill assumptions.
Record the exact account mode and date. Reconcile requested quantity, fill time, fee and residual position using a copied statement. A product described as multi-asset may still have different permissions, data or order types in a particular account.
