Cash Flow Scenarios: Delayed Collections and Changed Costs

Compare explicit assumption sets without turning a sensitivity exercise into a probability forecast.

Baseline preserves the original events

Baseline uses 100 percent of each entered receipt and payment at its entered date. Two comparison scenarios independently scale receipts and payments and can delay receipts by 0–90 days. They are named A and B without assigning probabilities.

Rounding happens before aggregation

Each source event is scaled once and rounded half-up to cents, then placed on its adjusted date. Every event is retained in the source. A shifted receipt can leave or enter the chosen horizon; excluded counts and sample entries are shown separately for each scenario.

A gap is an input-dependent result

The first negative balance among opening cash and daily closes is calculated from the entered opening balance and scenario events, including an opening negative balance on day one. It is not an automatic credit decision, insolvency conclusion or prediction that a customer will default. Minimum-buffer breaches use your own buffer threshold.

Change timing deliberately

Delaying every receipt by the same number of days is a coarse sensitivity assumption. If only one customer is late, edit that specific event in a copied JSON scenario instead. Payments are not postponed automatically; this model does not recommend delaying payroll, tax or contractual obligations.
